The recent proliferation of online review websites in recent years has caused business owners of all types to rethink the way in which they manage their image in the perilous landscape of social media. Sites such as Google, Yelp, Ripoff Report and countless others have provided a quick and easy venue for unsatisfied patrons to vent their frustrations, often at a time when they are at their most incensed and unreasonable, and immediately after they might feel they have been slighted. Doctors, dentists, psychologists and other healthcare professionals have not remained insulated from these issues. Indeed, medical professionals face an even more labyrinthine set of challenges, due to issues such as healthcare privacy laws and other considerations of clinician-patient confidentiality.
